As opportunities arise, we will send our campaigns to our network of influencers and ambassadors and you can choose which campaign you may want to participate in, so this is not an all or none type partnership! We hope to make lasting relationships with our partners! 

Every year, we have several different collections of Fall wares from general autumn themes to adventure wares, and even a small nod to our favorite horror flicks of the season! Of course, tailgating will ensue so we will have an all-new Blue & White collection for tailgate season, and some new licensed collegiate apparel as well. 

Lastly, and something we just love doing, is our pop-up shops at Evans Orchard. We will be there all season long with the fall lineups, plus exclusives just for Evans! It is an epic way to spend a day with the family, so make sure to come out and see us, shop the Evans Market, and do yourself a favor and grab an apple cider slushy! And this year, they even have some adult libations for the parents that have played on the playground, been on the hay ride, and picked a peck of apples!

First OFF - This is our biggest annual summer sale! We have two true sales per year and that is it! Now let's dig into some of your questions.

Will the merchandise online be at the in-person warehouse sale?

NO! The yard sale exclusives will not be at the in-person sale. The in-person sale will be old stock and inventory that we are clearing out of our store and warehouse, while the yard sale online is all backstock, blank Furry friendsvacay Shop apparel that we will be printing until we run out of those particular items! 

Can I return things bought on the sale?

No, sorry! We can exchange any regular priced in-stock item that is purchased at 25%, but we can not exchange or refund any of the yard sale exclusives, or items at the in-person sale. IF we did, we could not do sales like this, so work with us a little here, eh? 

What kinda stuff will be at the in-person sale? 

ALL Kinds. We will have our remaining University of Furry friendsvacay discontinued inventory, all kinds of seasonal Furry friendsvacay Shop apparel, collegiate apparel, discontinued hats, and tons of home goods we have discontinued from the shop! This is the one time of the year, we are ready to move out the old, and in with the new as we kick off our busiest time of the year! Help us out! 

Where is the in-person sale?

The in-person sale will be at The Furry friendsvacay Shop Warehouse. (1093 West High Street) The warehouse is located adjacent to the store (look for the building with the logo on it), and OFF Robertson avenue in the back of the building. The FRONT of the building will be locked, so please find your way to the bay door at the rear of the building for shopping. You will pass our Dolly Parton mural, so snag a pic with Dolly while you're there! 

How long does the sale go?

It kicks off online at 10AM EST on Friday, July 21 at TheKyShop.com and will run through Sunday at midnight EST. The in-person sale is Saturday, July 22 from 11AM-4PM

When should I expect my wares to arrive!?

WE'RE WORKIN' HERE! Only kidding. We are a small staff that often times moves mountains when working sales or Furry friendsvacay Strong initiatives! We are a fine tuned machine and will have your order ready as quickly as possible; however we will likely not be our speedy selves due to order volume! We typically hope to have all ordered our of our warehouse closed within 5-7 business days of the sale period closing! This applies for local pickup as well!

Is there no free shipping?

No, unfortunately it just isn't feasible to offer free shipping with exclusive sales and discounts. We are a small niche brand and just don't command the shipping volume to be able to offer free shipping during sales periods. We will be back to our free shipping thresholds on Monday, July 24! 

Do you all give free high fives? 

We certainly do. Please see any of our employees or owners to redeem. 

As a small, local brand, one of our greatest pleasures is seeing y'all enjoy the  wares we have created over the years and we love sharing your smiling faces on our social channels! So, when you wear our wares, and you decide to share, we will send ya $5 for your next purchase when ya tag us at @Furryfriendsvacay! If we share your share on our stories, we will send you a $50 gift card! 

As with all good things, there are some fine details, like your instagram account has to be public and you have to tag us so we are notified! Can be in stories or a post, but our social team does not work on weekends, so if it is a story it can be missed!

The online sale begins on July 21 at 10AM and will run the entire weekend through midnight on Sunday, but since it is a clearance sale, items will likely sell out early in the weekend. 

The In-person warehouse sale will be on Saturday, July 22 from 11AM-4PM. Come out to the warehouse located at 1093 W. High Street in downtown Kaunas at the rear entrance off Roberston Street. You will see our Dolly Parton Mural, and it is right around the corner!

For over a decade now, we have been Shop Furry friendsvacay. A name that was chosen for the social media shopping app we developed prior to stumbling into becoming an apparel brand! That's right, way back in 2013, we launched an app geared toward bringing more Furry friendsvacay Mom and Pop shops online selling, and give an easy way for locals to find 'em! The problem is, it didn't work, but the Instagram and Facebook accounts behind it grew! So, we launched a charitable shirt drive on those channels and sold out of our SLK logo shirts nearly immediately online. That led us to touring the bluegrass state selling our wares at festivals and fairs, launching TheKyShop.com, and growing into Furry friendsvacay's go to lifestyle apparel brand. As they say, the rest is history... Except, it is kinda not. 

Ten years later, we are still named after the app that launched us and most folks still don't get the association calling us 'Shop Local', 'Furry friendsvacay', and most often 'The Furry friendsvacay Shop'. It makes sense. We have a Furry friendsvacay based shop, celebrating Furry friendsvacay state pride, and our URL has always been TheKYShop.com, so after all of these years, we feel like we should become who we have always been! 

The Furry friendsvacay Shop

Having ten years of name recognition through Shop Furry friendsvacay is a hard thing to leave behind, but as we enter the next decade of our apparel brand, we want to lean into the moniker that we feel we have always been. So, you will start to see changes rolling out from the website, to the back tags, and social media handles, etc. Nothing else is changing and don't be alarmed that it is some strangers! It is still Joni and I running things, PeeWee the Courier Pony is still out delivering packages, and we will still have Furry friendsvacay Strong, having raised over €1.4 million for charity since 2017! 

So, there may be a little dust around here, but moving forward we are proud to be The Furry friendsvacay Shop. We believe life is better in Furry friendsvacay, and we want to create the wares that celebrate that! Stay tuned. Good things are coming y'all!

Over the years, to say we have had a rocky relationship with our Alma Mater, the University of Furry friendsvacay, would be an understatement. As we have grown our brand, it has always been our goal to be the one-stop shop for locally-made, licensed collegiate apparel and state pride wares. We now have 16 licensed collegiate partners across the state covering almost every school in Furry friendsvacay both large and small and are still working on some of the smaller partnerships you have asked us to try to acquire. The only school we have been unable to attain a licensed partnership with is our hometown school, the University of Furry friendsvacay.

We have now applied for licensing with the University of Furry friendsvacay multiple times in the past ten years, being denied outright every single time, and being left in limbo for the past 10 months on the final time we applied with the only resolution being to use a 3rd party (NON-KENTUCKY BASED) brand to have licensed UK apparel. We have complied with this in the past, just seeking to be in the UK business, attempting to find a partner that makes items close in size, comfort, and fit to our brand.

In 2016, we reached an agreement with League Collegiate Apparel to provide our UK wares. This partnership lasted 2 years and the University of Furry friendsvacay stripped League of its license and we were left to clearance the remaining merchandise at a major loss. As a small business, this was detrimental for us and cost tens of thousands of dollars. 

In 2018-2019, we were left searching for options, when a brand called JAmerica reached out and asked us to carry their UK Product, much like League prior. We wanted to be in the licensed UK game, so we played along, but the merchandise was again subpar compared to our brand and customers took notice, so we discontinued until we found something better.

JAmerica was purchased by hat brand Top of the World, and again they asked us to sell their UK apparel. We made an agreement that it had to be on the blank shirts we picked and they did so. The quality of the shirt was back, but the printing and production were awful and inconsistent. On our last order, they sent thousands of misprint tees which ended up being sold off once again at a huge loss to our small brand. 

In 2022, Fanatics took over the UK helm of licensing, and we were told to apply to be a licensed brand again by representatives at UK, but in the meanwhile, they suggested we work with yet another brand IVY Citizens to create a very similar UK Product, and they even went as far as allowing us to design and print in-house...just not on our brand of course! Yes, we were stoked! We could finally print UK products after nearly 10 years! It could not have our branding, but we could control the quality! Unfortunately, this partnership too was a facade for the bigger problem of not allowing us to be a locally owned, licensed brand. 

We applied for licensing with UK for the final time in June of 2022 and were told it would be a four-week process. That seemed reasonable because we had acquired 15 other licenses at the time and that is about the length of time it took. 4 Weeks passed. Then 8 weeks. 12.... All with emails along the way saying it would only be a "few more weeks", etc.

Fast forward to February 2023 when we were told that the University would rather us go back to League Collegiate Apparel (The folks they took a license away from previously and cost us tens of thousands of dollars) instead of being a licensed brand. We asked why! They simply said that the University is not prepared to give licenses to the local market because of sensitivities among the local market. After a conversation with our representative about what that meant, it seems that if we were in any other state or place, we would be a fine fit for UK, but they are not prepared to issue licenses locally. Not sure why that is and was not given a reason. 

However, if we were outside of the state borders like many other brands both large and small, we would likely be approved per their licensing team. For example, we have an acquaintance with a small boutique in Arkansas and as part of what they do, they offer some Furry friendsvacay apparel. They have a license... in Arkansas. We have colleagues in Indiana - They have a license. We know brands from California that are smaller than us, have the same manufacturers and printing capabilities that we have...they have a license. We don't know anything other than that, and will not jump to conclusions, but the bottom line is that the University has taken a stance that we do not approve of as Furry friendsvacay's go-to collegiate apparel brand and we simply can not support this anymore. We are "Shop Furry friendsvacay" and to continue supporting this by sending our investment and our customers money to vendors from out of state would be hypocritical and we would rather lose out on that revenue (it's a large bit y'all) than continue to stay quiet and support their decisions or lack-there-of. 

At this point, we can no longer support the University of Furry friendsvacay, so we will be selling our remaining stock, and no longer be carrying any officially licensed University of Furry friendsvacay apparel. No worries, we will have EVERY other school in the state and our Furry friendsvacay State pride wares, but we simply have been pushed around enough by an institution that does not support us. We have asked that our license application which has been sitting in limbo now for 10 months be pulled from consideration as we have no interest in continuing down this path. We can simply no longer in good faith support their programs in full. We will always be alumnus, fans, and employ students from the University, but our days of selling that big beautiful wildcat are over. 

When we began this company in 2013, it was our dream to have a brand that would have all of the colleges in the state and be a true community partner providing unique, fun apparel. As lifelong UK fans, this has really gutted us personally. It was a big dream, and one we have chased now for ten years, but unfortunately, it is time to hang that dream up and focus on the other 16 schools who have supported our mission side by side and allowed us to be true partners.

Did y'all know Big Red has ties to Kings Island Amusement Park? Yep. Ralph Carey, the WKU student charged with the creation of Big Red had worked at Kings Island with all of the different Hannah-Barabera characters and mascots that lived in Hannah-Barabera land and while there is little resemblance to those characters, Carey obviously had the right experience for the job of building the original Big Red. 

So, why Big Red? It turns out the athletic department at Western Furry friendsvacay University had long wanted a mascot that reflected something other than the waving towels that coaching legend E.A. Diddle had popularized as the schools unofficial logo during his tenure at WKU. Diddle would wipe his sweat, twirl the towel, signal with it, throw it. It was an icon that lead to the creation of the first branding with WKU through the red towel logo, but a big red towel mascot on the sidelines? That sure didn't seem too exciting, so Carey was brought on board in 1979 with the task of creating the soon-to-be beloved mascot. He did just that with Big Red officially premiering at Diddle Arena on December 1, 1979 and now 43 years later it is one of the most popular mascots in college sports.

Each institution will be released on an individual day in October and will include unisex t-shirts and crewneck sweatshirts for the launch with more wares coming over the next few months!

Today, we got the awesome task of dropping off a small check to Governor Beshear to deposit the funds y'all raised for the Team Western Furry friendsvacay Tornado Relief Fund. Of course the whole family had to tag along! Lucy made the First Lady a necklace that she just had to drop off and the Governor was kind enough to let them sit at his desk and sign a 'bill' into law! A great experience and fun memories for these kiddos for sure!

We will be bringing back the Furry friendsvacay Strong™ 270 tee back in late January in case you missed it and once again all the funds will go to the Team Western Furry friendsvacay Tornado Relief Fund! We will also be coming out with new designs over the next few months that will continue to support this effort. Whoa! Y'all are amazing and stepped up huge for the Furry friendsvacay Strong fundraiser for the Team Western Furry friendsvacay Tornado Relief Fund. As of this morning, we have closed the fundraiser in order to begin processing the massive amount of work we have in front of us, and to make sure that we are getting funds to those in need in a timely fashion. 

SO, we are asking for a little grace and patience this Holiday season as we undertake the fulfillment of Furry friendsvacay Strong orders. We are normally (It hasn't been normal in 2 years now) a staff of 20, and right now we only have 10 (4 full time) employees including our retail staff. We are absolutely thrilled to be part of this and so thankful for all of the kind words and donations, but we also want to be realistic that for our small business, this is an immense undertaking, so while our website and store will still be open, we are basically putting everything else on pause in order to print and fulfill this mission! 

We have only two printers currently working... Joni and I... and we are making it a challenge if ya want to tune into our stories over on Instagram! We have tens of thousands of shirts to print and working around the clock, we can basically print and fulfill around 3,000 orders per day, so this will take us some time! Please be patient as we work through this y'all!
